Our congratulations goes to the following films which have been nominated at the 2017 British Independent Film Awards: LADY MACBETH, directed by William Oldroyd, leads the awards with an impressive 15 nominations which include a Best Cinematography nomination for Director of Photography, Ari Wegner. Edited by Nick Emerson, LADY MACBETH, is also nominated for Best Independent Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Debut Director. Production Designer, Nathan Parker, has been nominated for Best Production Design for I AM NOT A WITCH. Directed by Rungano Nyoni and edited by George Cragg, I AM NOT A WITCH, is nominated for 13 awards which also includes Best Independent Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Debut Director. Peter Lambert has been nominated for Best Editing for his work on Armando Iannucci’s, THE DEATH OF STALIN; THEIR FINEST, directed by Lone Scherfig and shot by Director of Photography, Sebastian Blenkov has been nominated for Best Debut Screenwriter and Best Effects; Nominated for Best International Film are, THE FLORIDA PROJECT, directed by Sean Baker and shot by Director of Photography, Alexis Zabe; and THE SQUARE, which is directed by Ruben Östlund and edited by Jacob Secher Schulsinger.  Meanwhile, PIN CUSHION, directed by Deborah Haywood and edited by Nick Emerson receives a nomination for Best Debut Director and nominated for Best Short, WORK, directed by Aniel Karia and shot by Director of Photography Ben Fordesman. The awards ceremony takes place in London on 10 December.
