2018 BIFA NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

Receiving nominations for Best Cinematography are: Magnus Joenck for LEAN ON PETE, and Tom Townend for YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HEREYorgos Mavropsaridis,ACE has been nominated for Best Editing for THE FAVOURITEYOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE, directed by Lynne Ramsay and shot by Director of Photography, Tom Townend, is also nominated for Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actor. THE FAVOURITE, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, edited by Yorgos Mavropsaridis,ACE with production design by Fiona Crombie has been nominated for Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actress. Receiving nominations for Best British Independent Film, Best Debut Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actress is BEAST, directed by Michael Pearce and shot by Director of Photography Benjamin Kračun; Andrew Haigh’s LEAN ON PETE, shot by Director of Photography Magnus Joenck is also been nominated for Best Director and Best Actor. Nominated for Best Debut Director are: RAY & LIZ, directed by Richard Billingham and shot by Daniel Landin, BSCAPOSTASY, directed by Daniel Kokotajlo and shot by Director of Photography Adam Scarth, and CALIBRE, directed by Matt Palmer with production design by Miren MarañonTHE BIG DAY directed by Dawn Shadforth with Hair and Make Up Design by Martin McClean has been nominated for Best British Short Film. In the Best International Independent Film category 
is CAPERNAUM, directed by Nadine Labaki, shot by Christopher Aoun and edited by Konstantin Bock. The winners will be announced 2 December.
